Facts on the Paradise Road Interchange
The Paradise Road Interchange includes:
- On and off-ramps from the Logan Motorway to Paradise Road
- Signalised intersections from the ramps to Paradise Road
- Toll plazas on the east bound on-ramp and west bound off-ramp
- An extension of the existing Paradise Road overbridge by an additional 20 metres on the northern side of the Motorway
- Construction of a new bridge under the interstate railway line
- Drainage works, road marking and signage associated with the new road layout
- Additional road lighting along the Logan Motorway and Paradise Road
Did you know?
- The rail bridge over the Interchange was completed in 4 x 10 hour shut downs, saving three weeks on the construction program
- Fast germinating native seeds, prevalent in the local area, were used for landscaping
- More than 150,000 cubic metres of earth was moved to create the foundation for the on and off-ramps
- All earth work materials were sourced from the site
- Over 740 personnel worked on this project
- Approximately 34,000 tonnes of asphalt was laid
- 1800 metres of guardrail and 1600 metres of concrete barriers were erected
- Reinforced concrete pipes were used instead of steel pipes, to ensure durability
- Over 100 street lights were installed
- The project was completed ahead of schedule
